Weaver accepted a Best Actress prize for Lawrence at the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Awards in Los Angeles Saturday, telling the crowd: “I’m going to receive this on her behalf. Poor Jen is really sick. She really is sick. She has pneumonia.”
The film’s producer Bruce Cohen told Us Weekly: “With all her appearances, she hasn’t gotten enough bed rest, but I think her plan is to be at the SAGs tomorrow,” he said, adding: “I haven’t spoken to her recently.”
Lawrence, who already has a Golden Glob under her belt this year, is also up for a best actress honor at the Screen Actors’ Guild Awards Sunday evening. Hopefully she will be feeling well enough to attend, as Cohen suggested. And let’s really hope she’s better by the time the Academy Awards roll around next month.
