WHO WON WHAT: THE 2013 SCREEN ACTORS GUILD AWARDS

Hit period drama, Downton Abbey was the surprise winner at last night’s Screen Actors Guild Awards, beating off stiff competition from Boardwalk Empire, Mad Men and Homeland to scoop the ensemble in a drama series prize.

Daniel Day-Lewis took home the Best Actor prize for his role in Lincoln. Accepting his award, Day-Lewis said: “It occurred to me – it was an actor that murdered Abraham Lincoln. And therefore, somehow it is only so fitting that every now and then an actor tries to bring him back to life again.”

Ben Affleck’s Argo took home the Outstanding Ensemble in a Motion Picture, Jennifer Lawrence grabbed the Outstanding Female Actor in a Leading Role for her performance in Silver Linings Playbook, Anne Hathaway won the Outstanding Female Actor in a Supporting Role award for her performance in Les Miserables, and Tina Fey won the Outstanding Female Actor in a Lead Role for 30 Rock.
